Tyger Valley at a glance
Tyger Valley, situated on the outskirts of the Northern Suburbs of Bellville and Durbanville is all about shopping and retail therapy. The formidable shopping facility is named after the suburb of Tyger Berg, which is an area which is said to be notably hilly for the otherwise flat landscape of the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. This later led to the Galleria Development which is a part of a bigger initiative entitled The Bellville Velodrome precinct. R3 billion was granted to develop retail, commercial, housing, conference and hotel capabilities that would put the area in the forefront as being a highly competitive commercial and entertainment node for the Northern areas of Cape Town.
Commercial Developments and Office Parks
Tyger Valley, Tyger Berg, Bellville and Durbanville has some of the fastest growing economic growth in the whole of the Western Cape. A lot of this is widely due to facilities such as the Tyger Valley shopping centres which have seen other commercial activity happening around it. Santam Office Park is a particular development which has raised the profile of the area which is said to have cost roughly R215 million. Willowbridge Place is another development which has added a lot of value to the area in terms of business space and office spaces.
Infrastructure/Roadways
Tyger Valley enjoys all the world-class infrastructure that the Northern Suburbs has become famous for. Some of the more prominent schools in the area include The Settlers High School, Curro Rosen Castle Nursery School, and Holy Cross family school, Fairmont High School, Bellville Primary School and Mountain View Academy Private School. Some of the more favourable medical facilities in the area include the Intercare Tyger Valley Medical and Dental care, Intercare Sub-Acute Hospital Tyger Valley, Melomed Private Hospital, Louis Leipoldt Medi-Clinic, Tygerberg Hospital and the Mediclinic Tigerpark. Some of the main roads that connect Tyger Valley with the rest of Cape Town, the Western Cape and South Africa include R302, M30, Carl Cronje Drive, Bill Bezuidenhout Avenue, the M121 and the Tyger Valley Centre Service Road.

Tyger Valley is a well-situated area and is only 14.4km from the Cape Town International Airport and it is said to take just over 20 minutes travel time to get there. From the central business district of Cape Town, it's believed to take roughly 33 minutes travel time and is believed to be roughly 24.2km in distance.
Transport
There is currently no MyCiti bus service that runs to Tyger Valley. The closest train station is the Bellville Train Station through the MetroRail train service. The Golden Arrow bus service has regular buses running to the Northern Suburban areas of Cape Town. One can also reach various parts of the Northern suburbs from the civic centre of Cape Town via the extensive minivan taxi service which connects many suburbs and towns around South Africa.
Malls/Shopping
Besides for the Tyger Valley Shopping centre, one of the biggest in the whole of the Western Cape, the area boasts a wide selection of places in which to shop including Willowbridge Mall, Highstreet Tyger Valley shopping centre, Riebeeckshof Mall, Glengarry Shopping Centre, Tyger Manor and Nobel Park Shopping Centre.
Restaurants
Tyger Valley's dining is a little more orientated around chain store dining instead of the quirkier eating established found in other parts of Cape Town. Some of these include The Hussar Grill Willowbridge, Ocean Basket Tygervalley, Ton Khoon Restaurant, Alamo Spur, Lemon Butta Willowbridge, Mug and Bean and Asami's Tyger Valley.
